Sharing God’s Glory?

Many people were very kind in response to my message on Sunday and one point of application in particular. (Alternatively, many people teased me, which is fine because teasing is kind of a love language—at least I hope it is!).

I spoke about the temptation to take criticism and/or praise and allow those things to corrupt my heart. To be clear…the responsibility for that is completely on me. Don’t feel awkward about commenting on the sermon to me. I was simply confessing that I can take the words of people and hold on to them with more significance than I should. I can especially hold on to those words of praise as a badge of honor. Instead, I need to reflect that honor and praise back to God.

Good sermon? The glory for that goes to God. He inspired the source material. The subject is Jesus, His Son. His Holy Spirit does the work of illumination and interpretation and gives the power and unction in delivery.

What are the occasions where you are likely to step into the limelight when only He should get the recognition?
